“We found with the Fli-Hi that the Black ION plating does an incredible job of making the iron look more compact, and it has the same impact with the 225s.

Mizuno Black ION Pro 225 Irons Specs & Design

Mizuno have taken the 225 irons and crafted them in striking fully blacked out look using ION plating to match the Fli-Hi long irons in the series.

The Mizuno 225 irons are more compact than the original Hot Medal Blade in the MP-20 range and now have a classic blade look and feel.

The tweak in shape is particularly noticeable in the mid and short irons in these blades for an improved ball flight as well as ball speeds.

Unlike the 225 irons which are available in 2-iron to gap wedge, the Black ION will only be available in 4-iron to gap wedge in order to pair them with the Fli-His.

The 4-8 iron are produced from Grain Flow Forged 4135 Chromoly Face & Neck and also COR Forged Hollow Body 28.5g Tungsten weight in the 4-7 iron.

The 9 iron and Pitching Wedge are 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel in make up and have a 431 steel back weight incorporated. The result is a more penetrating ball flight and much more precision around the greens.
