Jason Day: What’s In The Bag

Jason Day What's In The Bag

Jason Day landed his second win of 2023 when landing the Grant Thornton Invitational with Lydia Ko in December 2023. A look at Jason Day: What’s In The Bag.

The major winner had been struck by injuries since last winning on the PGA Tour in the Wells Fargo Championship in 2018.

A healthier Day returned to the winners’ circle with a one-shot victory over Si-Woo Kim and Austin Eckroat in the AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in Texas in May 2023.

The Australian teamed up with Ko to win the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational by one-shot to pick up the mixed pairs title following a score of 26-under par in Florida.

Day’s maiden PGA Tour win came in the Byron Nelson in 2010 and he went on to also win the 2014 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

It was in 2015 that Day enjoyed his best year, winning the Farmers Insurance Open, RBC Canadian Open, his first major in the USPGA Championship, The Barclays and the BMW Championship.

More success followed in 2016 with victory in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, WGC-Dell Match Play and The Players Championship before success in the Farmers Insurance Open and Wells Fargo Championship in 2018.

Day’s first professional win came on the Nationwide Tour in the 2007 Legend Financial Group Classic, while other victories include the 2013 ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf with Adam Scott, 2013 World Cup of Golf Individual Trophy and 2014 Franklin Templeton Shootout with Cameron Tringale.

He has also featured in the Presidents Cup in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 and led Australia to victory in the World Cup in 2013.

The AT&T Byron Nelson win former world number one Day sits 19th in the Official Golf World Rankings.
