Jennifer Kupcho: What’s In The Bag

Jennifer Kupcho added a second LPGA Tour title to her name by landing the Meijer LPGA Classic in June 2022. A look at Jennifer Kupcho: What’s In The Bag.

Kupcho broke her LPGA Tour duck by winning her major as her first title in the Chevron Championship in April and brought up her second career victory two months later in the Meijer LPGA Classic.

At Blythefield Country Club, the 25-year-old Kupcho finished on 18-under before defeating Nelly Korda and Leona Maguire in a play-off to be crowned champion.

In the Chevron Championship in April, Kupcho was foot perfect over the opening three rounds at Mission Hills Country Club to enter the final round six shots clear of the field. Her 16-under total was a 54-hole record in the tournament.

The American bogeyed three holes on the back nine as nerves began to show, but she regained composure and a two-over par round was enough for a two-shot victory.

It capped a dream first major for the Ping staff golfer and also represented her first professional victory since turning pro in 2019.

Kupcho was the world number one female amateur while at Wake Forest University, and won the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2019.

She went onto to turn pro immediately afterwards having already gained her LPGA Tour card when qualifying in November 2018.

Kupcho won for the first time as a professional in the unofficial Colorado Open in 2022 during the pandemic, before going on to represent United States in the 2021 Solheim Cup.
