Jon Rahm: What’s In The Bag

Jon Rahm made it four wins in as many months in 2023 when landing his second career major with victory in the Masters at Augusta in April. A look at Jon Rahm: What’s In The Bag.

Having already won the Tournament of Champions, The American Express and Genesis Invitational, the Spaniard added a first Green Jacket to his list of achievements with victory in the 2023 Masters.

Remarkably, Rahm’s Augusta run to victory started with a four-putt double bogey, but it didn’t matter as he triumphed by four shots from Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson.

A three-under par final round at Augusta saw Rahm finish on 12-under par for the week to win the title on what would have been hero Seve Ballesteros’ birthday.

His second major victory, having already won his first major at the 2021 US Open at Torrey Pines, meant that Rahm returned to world number one in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Already in 2023, Rahm produced the biggest comeback victory in the season-opening Tournament of Champions as he overhauled long-term leader Collin Morikawa on the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort.

Just two weeks later, Rahm also took the title at The American Express as he once again finished with a 27-under total.

A total 17-under was enough to give Rahm his third win of the year at the Genesis Invitational as the Spaniard defeated Max Homa by two shots.

It has been some run for Rahm, who ended 2022 with his third win of that year in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. That followed victories in the Mexico Open in May and his third Open de Espana victory in October.

Rahm has earlier won the 2018 and 2019 Open de Espana titles and equalled hero Seve Ballesteros’ three victories in the event.

On the PGA Tour he has lifted titles at the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open, 2018 CareerBuilder Challenge, 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Ryan Palmer, 2020 Memorial Tournament, 2020 BMW Championship. He also won the 2018 Hero World Challenge.

Rahm has also won on the European Tour in the 2017 and 2019 Irish Open, 2017, 2019 and 2022 DP World Tour Championship and 2018, 2019 and 2022 Open de Espana.
