The Mizuno GENEM WG GTX BOA golf shoes are new for 2023, the most comfortable yet from the manufacturer and the first environmentally conscious model.

Mizuno have created the new shoe using sustainable algae in the BLOOM TPE midsole design, as well as other recycled materials.

Mizuno have made some notable changes to the new Genem shoe with a focus on environmental features the key element.

The midsole of the WG BTX shoe is constructed using BLOOM TPE algae blended resin in the midsole to help remove phosphorous and ammonia from industrial wastewater.

The Genem’s environmentally friendly fixes doesn’t stop there either with recycled BOA wire used in shoe as well as recycled synthetic upper and fibres within the tongue and heel cuff.

Mizuno have introduced a new sole design with a three-way pattern designed to provide grip through all parts of the swing with the three sector pattern sole generation maximum ground force.

There is also additional traction provided by the new proprietary rubber compound uses to create the sole – 33% in fact compared to the previous X10 rubber that Mizuno used.

Comfort and energy transfer is provided by what Mizuno describe as their “softest and bounciest midsole” that is inspired by the brand’s running shoes and sneakers.

The midsole design incorporated into the GENEM WG GTX BOA is both 17% softer and 15% more resilient thank versions used in previous models of golf shoes.

The BOA Closure system keeps you locked in and stable, while the Goretex upper is 100% waterproof and comes with a two-year warranty.

The new shoes are available in three colour options: Grey/China Blue, White/Black and White/Navy.
