Titleist TSR1 Woods Review (NEW Lightweight Model Added)
The TSR1 fairways have been added to the new range of woods from Titleist
The Titleist TSR1 woods have been added to the new 2023 release as an extremely lightweight option for golfers with slower swing speeds.
Joining the previously launched TSR2, TSR2+ and TSR3 fairway woods, Titleist have added this game improving version to their TSR woods range for the first time.
Featuring all the same technologies as the other three models, the TSR1 woods have had all unnecessary weight stripped out to allow for faster swing speeds with no more effort.
We take a look at how they differ from the other fairways in the TSR range, the type of golfer they suit and the benefits of adding them to the bag
What Titleist says about the TSR1 Fairway Woods:
“The optimized, lightweight configuration of Titleist TSR1 Fairways makes it easier to generate more speed. A new open hosel construction allows CG to shift lower and deeper for easier launch and more forgiveness.
“The benefits are: Maximized Launch & Distance, Exceptional Forgiveness and Player-Preferred Shape, Sound & Feel

“Features: Ultra-Lightweight Configuration, Low, Face-Centered CG (Center of Gravity), High-Strength Carpenter Stainless Steel and SureFit Adjustability
“Through advanced modeling and player testing, the TSR1 fairways strike the perfect balance of lightweight feel and maximum inertia to create faster swing speeds and even faster ball speeds.
“This new design removes unwanted weight high in the heel, freeing Titleist engineers to shift the CG lower and further back from the face. This makes TSR1 fairways incredibly forgiving and easy to launch.

“Confidence lies in the details, and TSR1 fairways continue to utilize direct player feedback to dial in the combination of looks, sound and feel that will prompt you to play your best.”

Titleist TSR1 Fairway Woods Specs & Design
The TSR1 fairway is an additional model added to the TSR woods and has been designed specifically with golfers with slower than average swing speeds in mind.
It has had all unneeded weight removed to create the lightest of the four model in the series to help golfers add speed without swinging harder or faster.

The CG is low and deep in the TSR1 to deliver an easy to launch option with a high ball flight for more carry. You can also expect to have even more forgiveness than the other models.
The new TSR1 woods have an Open Hosel Construction design, which helps with the weight savings while also offering adjustability in terms of loft and lie angles.
The TSR1 fairways are available in four loft options – 15 degrees, 18 degrees, 20 degrees and 23 degrees with a SureFit Adjustability hosel included.

Verdict: Are Titleist TSR1 Woods any good?
The TSR woods had everything covered by the TSR2, TSR2+ and TSR3 with the exception of a model for golfers who don’t generate much clubhead speed.
That has changed with the launch of the TSR1, which just like the driver and hybrids has plenty of weight savings in the design to help flash the club through quicker without the need to swing harder.
This is a classy looking option to add to the bag and offers the kind of added distance, carry and forgiveness that mid-to-high handicap golfers crave.
