When is the 2022 Masters taking place?

Masters Flag

The 2022 Masters will take place at Augusta National from April 7-10 as the first major of the season.

The 2022 Masters will be the 86th edition of the major with Hideki Matsuyama the defending champion having won his first Augusta title in 2021.

Grandstands and a big crowd should be back at Augusta after the 2020 edition took place in November behind closed doors and only a small number of patrons attended in 2021.

Where is the 2022 Masters taking place?

The Masters will continue to take place at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. It remains the only one of golf’s majors not to rotate between venues.

Who is the reigning Masters champion?

Hideki Matsuyama claimed his first major title when creating history with a one-shot victory at Augusta in 2021 US Masters to earn his first green jacket.

Despite a one-over par final round, Matsuyama’s 10-under par score was enough to finish one shot clear of Will Zalatoris.

Xander Schauffele ended three shots adrift on seven-under in a tie for third place with former Masters champion Jordan Spieth.

It was a historic win as Matsuyama became the first Japanese US Masters winner and also the first male player from Japan to win a golf major.

Who is the favourite for the 2022 Masters?

World number one Jon Rahm, 2020 Masters champion Dustin Johnson and Spieth have been installed as the favourites with bookmakers.
