The WGC Match Play was first held in 1999 and is the premier matchplay event of the season, being co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.

Scottie Scheffler is the reigning champion after beating Kevin Kisner in the final in 2022.

WGC Dell Technologies Match Play Golf Format & Schedule

The WGC Match Play features 64 of the top ranked players and they are drawn into 16 groups of four. Each player plays three round robin matches from Wednesday to Friday to determine the group winner.

The 16 group winners progress to the knockout stages, which are played over the weekend (last 16 and quarter-finals on Saturday, semi-finals and final on Sunday)

• Day 1 – Group Stages – Wednesday, March 22
• Day 2 – Group Stages – Thursday, March 23
• Day 3 – Group Stages – Friday, March 24
• Day 4 – Last 16 & Quarter-Finals – Saturday, March 25
• Day 5 – Semi-Finals & Final – Sunday, March 26

The tournament carries a total prize fund of $20,000,000 USD, increased from $12,000,000 USD in 2022.
