The 2022 Barracuda Championship takes place from July 14-17 at Tahoe Mountain Club. Watch a Barracuda Championship live stream of all the action from the PGA Tour event.

The event was first held in 1999 and is an alternate event on the PGA Tour as it takes place on the same weekend as the Open Championship.

In 2022, for the first time the tournament is also co-sanctioned with the European Tour.

The Barracuda Championship, which is also known as the Reno-Tahoe Open, is played on the Old Greenwood Course at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, California.

The tournament was a strokeplay event between 1999-2011 but since 2012 has been played using a modified stableford format.

Erik van Rooyen is the reigning champion having won the event in 2021.

Other former winners of the event include Notah Begay III, Scott Verplank, Vaughan Taylor, JJ Henry, Scott Piercy, Gary Woodland, Geoff Ogilvy and Collin Morikawa.

Barracuda Championship Golf Format & Schedule

The Barracuda Championship will be played over four rounds / 72 holes on the Old Greenwood Course at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, California, with a cut after the opening two rounds.

A modified stableford format is used with 8 points for a double eagle or albatross, 5 points for an eagle, 2 points for a birdie, 0 points for a par, -1 point for a bogey and -3 points for a double bogey or worse.

The tournament carries a total prize fund of $3,700,000 USD.
