The TaylorMade Truss TB2 putter is one of four models in unique range released in 2020.
TaylorMade have broken new ground with the launch of the Truss putters with what they describe as a “striking hosel design” – and they will be flat sticks which divide opinion.
What TaylorMade say about the Truss TB2 putter:
“It looks like nothing else, because it putts like nothing else. A striking hosel design engineered to increase stability in classically styled putters that look familiar at address.
“By creating multiple contact points along with the topline, the Truss hosel design reduces the amount of unsupported mass and deflection at impact.
“Truss putters were optically engineered to present a familiar look at address for players seeking more stability in a classic shape.
“The same Tour-Proven technology now in Cobalt Blue, Pure Roll inserts produce better sound and feel, while 45° grooves increase topspin to help the ball start and stay on its intended line.”
TaylorMade Truss TB2 Putter Design
One of two blade models in the TaylorMade Truss putters range, the TB2 model features the unique hosel and is centred shafted.
The hosel has been designed with a never-before-seen shape that is triangular in shape. It is a design used across all four models in the Truss series.
TaylorMade believe that the putter provides stability like never before, particularly on off-centre strikes, with the idea behind the design to prevent twisting at the point of impact.
There is the now customary TaylorMade Pure Roll, but it is thicker than in other models. It also now features 45 degree grooves with a softer polymer and has a striking cobalt blue colour.
As with the TB1, there are two adjustable sole weights to make this Truss putter adaptable to the putting stroke of all types of golfer.
TaylorMade Truss TB2 Verdict
The TB2 putter is a high-performing blade but the sheer look of it will mean that it isn’t for everyone. Particularly if are not a fan of centre-shafted putters.
While the look will divide opinion, the performance certainly won’t. The Pure Roll insert helps created more forward roll than before and the sole weights ensure the Truss TB2 can be set up to suit your needs.
Whether you have a straight back and through putting stroke or an arc, the weights can be adjusted to get you striking straight putts than ever before.
