Ian Poulter lupaa voittaa jälleen LIV-golftaistelujen keskellä

Ian Poulter

Ian Poulter has taken to social media to hit back at his critics with the LIV Golf struggler promising he will return to winning ways.

Poulter swapped the PGA Tour and DP World Tour for LIV Golf in 2022 but the Englishman is yet to win in his new surroundings.

Poulter sits 37th of 54 players in 2024 after a disappointing season, and his Majesticks team – who he co-captains with Lee Westwood and Henrik Stenson – are second from bottom in the standings.

With critics circling around Poulter following LIV Golf Singapore, the outspoken former Ryder Cup star took to his Instagram account and promised he will win again on tour.

Ian Poulter To Win Again?

“I don’t need to win again,” he kirjoitti Instagramissa in the aftermath of a T35 finish in Singapore.

“However I will, and those who don’t think or believe or feed negativity on here need to look in the mirror as they are probably hiding behind some issues. So please go seak (sic) help or consult in good friends.

“Having belief and drive and the will to succeed keeps us all working harder. Be happy, spread some happiness in some way. I promise it will help.”

Poulter also discussed his underperforming Majesticks team form, but pointed out there are doing more than just playing on the course.

The trio of Poulter, Westwood and Stenson, along with team-mate Sam Horsfield, have embarked on an educational programme known as Little Sticks.

“Whilst Team @majesticksgc performance on the course isn’t very good at the moment,” he added in his social media post.

“Which some of you keep telling me. It’s not always what’s being done on the course that’s the full picture. I’m extremely proud of our franchise and our #littlesticks program within our Team.

“Building a curriculum for schools to help those who have never picked up a club or would ever be exposed to golf and those children with various disabilities is fantastic to see. Our feedback and our data is proving we can make a difference to many of these kids.

“You don’t always have to win to win. And whilst we improve others we continue to try and improve our own performance levels. And I have faith that this Team will produce soon enough on all levels.”
