The event returns to be part of the 2022 DP World Tour season after a two-year absence during the Covid pandemic.

Nicolas Colsaerts is the reigning champion after winning the tournament when it was last held in 2019.

The Open de France was first formed in 1906 as a national championship and joined the now DP World Tour upon the formation of the European Tour in 1972.

The event takes place at Le Golf National in Paris, France, with the venue staging the tournament since 1991 as well as the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Former winners of the French Open include Seve Ballesteros, Greg Norman, Sandy Lyle, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Costantino Rocca, Retief Goosen, Sam Torrance, Colin Montgomerie, Jose Maria Olazabal, Martin Kaymer, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Graeme McDowell and Tommy Fleetwood.

The Open de France golf will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at the par 71 Le Golf National in Paris, France. There is a cut after the opening two rounds.

• Day 2 – Friday, September 23
• Day 3 – Saturday, September 24
• Day 4 – Sunday, September 25

The tournament carries a prize fund of €3,000,000.
