The tournament is the season-ending event of the 2022 LPGA Tour season, and is being played on the Gold Course at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, United States.

The Tour Championship was first held in 2011 and crowns the winner of the LPGA season.

Ko Jin-young is the reigning champion after winning back-to-back titles in 2020 and 2021.

Other former winners include Park Hee-young, Choi Na-yeon, Shanshan Feng, Lydia Ko, Cristie Kerr, Charley Hull, Ariya Jutanugarn, Lexi Thompson and Kim Sei-young.
