At the age of 17, Talley’s victory at the 2026 U.S. Women’s Amateur came with an 8&6 defeat of Japan’s Anna Iwanaga in the 36-hole final at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
Her win gets Talley exemption into the 2027 US Women’s Open.
The win added to the rising stock of the talented American teenager, who has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom over the last two years.
Her breakout came at the age of 15 at the 2024 US Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club, where she stood only two strokes off the lead after round one and ultimately finished tied 44th as low amateur.
That same year she won the 2024 US Women’s Amateur Four-Ball alongside Sarah Lim, was runner-up in both the 2024 US Women’s Amateur and US Girls’ Junior and represented the United States in the 2024 Curtis Cup.
She was runner-up at the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur and suffered a damaging quadruple bogey on Augusta National’s par-3 12th hole when in contention in 2026.
