How To Change The Batteries On A Mileseey Rangefinder

Has your Mileseey rangefinder run out of power on the course? You’ll need to change or replace the batteries or recharge the device to get it back up and running.

Mileseey rangefinders use different power systems depending on the model – some rechargable and others using individual batteries.

The PF210, PF260 and PRF260 Tour use one CR2 3-volt lithium battery the requires replacing when levels deplete.

Models like the GenePro G1, IONME2, PF1, PF1 Pro, PFS2 Pro and GPF12 have built-in lithium-ion batteries that are rechargeable via USB-C. The GenePro S1 has a rechargeable CR2 battery.

If your rangefinder has a replaceable battery, changing it involves opening the battery compartment, removing the old cell and inserting the correct replacement with the positive and negative ends aligned as marked.

Changing The Batteries In A Mileseey Laser Rangefinder

The Mileseey rangefinders generally require a CR2 lithium battery, which has a voltage of 3V. Some models may vary, so always refer to your user manual for specifics.

The following steps apply to Mileseey rangefinders with a user-replaceable battery, including the PF210, PF260 and PRF260 Tour.

1. If your model has a built-in rechargeable battery, follow the charging instructions instead of attempting to open the casing.

2. Check which battery your rangefinder requires. For the Mileseey devices, you will need one CR2 3V lithium battery. Use the battery type and voltage specified in your model’s manual.

3. Locate the battery compartment and open the cover. Push the battery-cover release in the direction indicated by the arrow. The opening mechanism may differ on other models, so follow the instructions for your device rather than forcing the cover.

4. Remove the old battery. Note its orientation before taking it out, then check the positive (+) and negative (−) markings inside the compartment before fitting the replacement.

5. Insert the new battery. Match the battery’s positive and negative ends to the markings on the device. Do not assume the positive end should always face upwards, as the correct orientation depends on the compartment’s design.

6. Close the battery compartment securely. Press the battery cover back into place after installing the battery. Make sure it is properly seated before using the rangefinder.

7. Turn on the rangefinder and take a test reading. If it still will not power on, recheck the battery’s orientation and seating. If the problem continues with a fresh, correctly installed battery, contact Mileseey support.

Charging A Rechargeable Mileseey Rangefinder

Not every Mileseey rangefinder needs a replacement battery when it runs low. Models such as the GenePro G1 use a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and support USB-C charging.

Other models using the rechargeable design include the IONME2, PF1, PF1 Pro, PFS2 Pro and GPF12.

For a rechargeable model, connect the correct charging cable to the device and a compatible USB power source, following the instructions in its manual. Check the charging indicator and allow the device to charge before your next round.

Some Mileseey models use rechargeable CR2-format batteries, so it is important to distinguish these from standard disposable CR2 cells.

Never attempt to recharge a battery that is not labelled rechargeable, and only use a replacement or charging arrangement approved for your model.

If your rangefinder has a sealed built-in battery that no longer holds a charge, contact Mileseey support rather than attempting to dismantle the device yourself.

Signs That Your Mileseey Rangefinder Battery Needs Replacing

There are several signs that your Mileseey rangefinder may need a fresh battery or a recharge.

A low-battery symbol on the display is the clearest indication. It is recommended to replace the battery when this warning appears and notes that low power can affect measurement accuracy.

A device that will not switch on, or that cuts out when you attempt to take a reading, may also have a depleted or poorly seated battery. Check the power supply before assuming the rangefinder itself has failed.

Inconsistent readings or difficulty locking onto the flag are worth investigating, but they do not necessarily mean the battery is flat.

Mileseey also recommends checking your units, holding the device steady, cleaning the lens and considering weather conditions or background interference.

If a rechargeable model runs out of power unusually quickly, charge it fully and check whether the problem continues. For charging problems, try another compatible cable or USB port before contacting support.

How Often Should You Change A Mileseey Rangefinder Battery?

Use your model’s low-battery warning and actual performance as your guide rather than assuming every Mileseey battery needs replacing after six or 12 months.

Mileseey recommends starting with a fully charged device or a fresh CR2 battery and replacing older cells when needed.

For longer periods without use, Mileseey suggests considering removal of replaceable batteries when storing the device for more than 60 days.

Rechargeable models should generally be stored at around 50-70% charge and topped up every few months. Keep the device and batteries cool and dry.

Stop using the rangefinder and seek support if the battery is swollen, leaking, unusually hot or producing an unusual smell. Do not continue charging a damaged battery to see whether it recovers.
