Garmin Approach S70 Golf Watch Features & Design

Garmin have added a whole host of improved and new features in the new S70, which is the most technologically advanced golf watch yet from the leading manufacturer.

Get distances to the front, middle and back of the green, hazards and areas of over 43,000 courses worldwide, with greater accuracy that previous models, as well as enhanced shaping and images of the green from your angle of attack.

The new enhanced maps also provide you with the slope direction of some greens, although this is only available for users with an active Garmin Golf membership.

Another new feature is the Play-Like conditions which provide you not only with the yardage distances but also how the current conditions and how the elevation affects the reading.

The virtual caddy feature gives you a club recommendation based on all of that information as well as your previous data store from past rounds.

Those stats are stored thanks to the AutoShot round analyser, which tracks every shot played on the course, the distance and dispersion via club sensors.

The S70 is available with three colour options: black, white and grey.

Verdict: Is the Garmin Approach S70 Golf Watch any good?

Garmin have taken things to the next level with the S70, adding a virtual caddie to the list of features to give you every possible aid in your bag (or watch) on the course.

From plays-like distances to club recommendations, you have everything at your disposal in the most complete golf watch yet from Garmin.

It is hard improving on some of the previous models that have been among the best sellers, but Garmin have managed to do that. The only downside is the hefty price tag.
