Grant Thornton Invitational 2025: Who Are The Leading Betting Odds Contenders?

Grant Thornton Invitational Flag

The 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational takes place from December 12-14 at Tiburon Golf Club in Florida and brings together elite PGA Tour and LPGA players in a mixed-team showcase to close out the year.

The unique three-round event features 16 pairs and a $2 million purse up for grabs with several star duos bidding for victory in the third edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational.

The tournament is played at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort’s Tiburon Golf Club, a par-72 layout measuring 7,382 yards for the PGA Tour tees and just under 7,000 yards for the LPGA tees.

This is the only co-sanctioned mixed-gender team event on the PGA Tour and LPGA schedule, pairing 16 PGA Tour players with 16 LPGA stars for three rounds of different formats.

Across the three tournament days, teams tackle scramble, foursomes (alternate shot) and a modified fourball format with low scoring expected from the 16 teams in the field.

Leading Grant Thornton Invitational Contenders

Denny McCarthy & Nelly Korda

Denny McCarthy and Nelly Korda top many betting lists as one of the PGA Tour’s most consistent putters pairs with arguably the premier player on the LPGA.

Their strength on bermudagrass greens and ability to generate birdie chances from all parts of the course make them a formidable pairing in low-scoring formats like scramble and modified fourball.

Korda’s elite world ranking and major-winning pedigree blend perfectly with McCarthy’s short-game touch, making them a duo well-suited to handling tight pins and pressure putts on Tiburon’s contoured surfaces.

If they find rhythm early in the opening scramble, they are likely to remain near the top of the leaderboard throughout the weekend.

Corey Conners & Brooke Henderson

Corey Conners and Brooke Henderson look a strong value pick, with the Canadian duo renowned for their tee-to-green excellence.

Conners’ ball-striking and fairway-finding ability pair well with Henderson’s aggressive approach game, offering frequent birdie looks on Tiburon’s par 5s and mid-length par 4s.

In alternate shot, their accuracy off the tee becomes a major asset, keeping the ball in position and reducing stress on approaches into protected greens.

If the winning score turns into a ball-striking contest rather than a putting shootout, this all-Canadian partnership should be central to the outcome.

Jason Day & Lydia Ko

Former champions Jason Day and Lydia Ko know exactly how to navigate the unique demands of this mixed format, having lifted the trophy together in the inaugural edition in 2023.

Day’s creativity around the greens and Ko’s precision iron play make them one of the most balanced teams in the field.

On bermudagrass greens that require touch and confidence, their combined short-game strengths stand out, especially in alternate shot where saving pars can be as important as chasing birdies.

With proven chemistry and course knowledge, Day and Ko are legitimate threats to reclaim the title in Naples.

Michael Brennan & Charley Hull

Michael Brennan steps in as a late replacement for Daniel Berger, giving Charley Hull a new but exciting partner for Tiburon this week.

Brennan arrives on a surge of form, having earned promotion through multiple wins on PGA Tour Americas and a breakthrough PGA Tour victory at the Bank of Utah Championship in just his third start.

Hull brings proven class and a strong recent record on the LPGA, sitting near the top of the Rolex Rankings after a run including a win and several runner-up finishes.

Her aggressive style and high birdie rate should pair well with Brennan’s confidence and length, giving this new-look team genuine upside in the low-scoring scramble and modified fourball rounds despite limited time to build chemistry.

Wyndham Clark & Lexi Thompson

Wyndham Clark and Lexi Thompson form one of the most powerful pairings in the field, combining two big hitters with major championship pedigree.

Clark arrives off a solid T8 at the Hero World Challenge, his best finish in months and a timely sign that his tee-to-green game is rounding back into shape after a quieter stretch following his standout 2023 season.

Thompson has 11 LPGA titles and previous success in this team event format, making her particularly comfortable in mixed-gender competitions and on Florida bermudagrass.

If both players drive it well, their ability to attack par 5s and medium par 4s should create plenty of birdie looks, giving them strong dark-horse appeal at mid-range odds on the outright market.
