JCB Golf & Country Club Review (Uttoxeter, Staffordshire)

JCB Golf & Country Club Review

The JCB Golf & Country Club is an impressive new golf course opened in the Midlands in the United Kingdom in 2019. Is it as formidable a challenge as everyone has suggested?

Located near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire, England, the JCB Golf & Country Club was designed as a premier destination by Robin Hiseman of European Golf Design.

The course has quickly garnered a reputation as one of the best golf destinations in the UK, with Rick Shiels and Good Good some of the YouTube influencers to have a teed it up.

Now the biggest event to be staged at the course will happen in 2024 with the LIV Golf England tournament moving to the venue.

Is it as good as it is hyped up to be? There’s only one thing we could do and that was to review JCB Golf & Country Club for ourselves.

JCB Golf & Country Club Layout, Feature Holes & Reviews

This golf course promises a memorable experience with its challenging layout, including the feature par-3 17th hole which is Sawgrass-like and needs a 230-yard carry from an elevated tee.

Water is in play throughout including across the lake for a daunting opening tee shot and again on the third hole, a 600-yard par-5 with a protected green.

The 13th has water the length of it’s par-5 test and when there are no hazards the course doesn’t relent with run off from green, daunting uphill par-4s including the closing hole and trouble whenever you get offline.

Even with some potentially driveable par-4s, it is just as easy to walk off with a bogey as much as a birdie.
