Winther hadn’t won since 2021, but produced a memorable weekend performance to win his home event for his biggest career success.
The Dane finished on 15-under par at Great Northern Golf Club in Denmark, winning the 2026 Danish Golf Championship by three shots from Filippo Celli, Rasmus Hojgaard, Matthew Jordan, Oliver Lindell and Yanhan Zhou.
Winther’s only previous DP World Tour title came in 2021 when he won the Mallorca Golf Open by a single shot in Spain.
The Danish star turned professional in 2012 and immediately won the Sydbank Masters on the Nordic Golf League Tour.
He won twice more on the tour in 2013 with his victories in the Bravo Tours Open and ECCO Tournament of Champions earning him promotion to the Challenge Tour.
