Justin Rose has officially joined McLaren Golf as the brand’s first tour player, global ambassador and equity investor in a landmark deal.
The 45‑year‑old Englishman, currently ranked fifth in the world, will have McLaren irons in play for the first time at this week’s Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral in Miami.
The move brings to end his stint as an equipment free agent with McLaren’s debut irons replacing Miura irons in Rose’s golf bag.
He is expected to start with a set of McLaren Series 1 irons from 5‑iron through pitching wedge, paired with a Series 3 4‑iron, with further woods, wedges and putter options expected to follow as development continues.
McLaren, best known as a powerhouse in Formula 1 and high‑performance supercars, announced earlier this year that it would launch a dedicated golf division, promising to “push the boundaries of equipment design and manufacturing.”

McLaren Golf x Justin Rose
In the run‑up to its official retail launch, McLaren have now secured a major and Olympic champion to spearhead the brand’s entry into the equipment market, unveiling Rose as its first tour staffer and the face of McLaren Golf worldwide.
The partnership goes far beyond a standard endorsement as Rose has taken an ownership stake in McLaren Golf and has spent the last two years with its engineering and R&D teams, testing prototypes, supplying performance data and helping refine the first products.
“From the beginning, this has been a passion project,” Rose said in a statement released by the brand. “I’ve had the opportunity to be involved from the outset – working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they’ve become.
“That level of involvement, combined with the standards McLaren brings to everything they do, made this an easy decision for me. I’m excited to put the clubs in play and watch the brand flourish.”
Rose will carry McLaren’s papaya‑coloured staff bag and wear the McLaren Golf logo on his chest, mirroring the iconic livery of the company’s Formula 1 operation.
Rose is a long‑time friend of McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown and is a regular playing partner of reigning Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris.
McLaren Golf’s official launch event is scheduled for Wednesday in Miami, with the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix weekend taking place at the same time as the Cadillac Championship where Rose is a leading contender.
