Liz Young: What’s In The Bag

Liz Young claimed a long awaited first Ladies European Tour win when landing the Swiss Ladies Open in September 2022. A look at Liz Young: What’s In The Bag.

England’s Young has been playing on the Ladies European Tour for 14 years without winning, but that all changed in the Swiss Ladies Open at Golfpark Holzhausern.

A three-under par final round was enough to finish on 12-under for the week and for a one-shot victory over Linn Grant with Rosie Davies third.

Young had never managed to win on the LET in 14 years but did win two Rose Ladies Series events in 2021 at North Hants and Woburn.

Young helped create the Rose Ladies Series in 2020 along with Justin Rose and wife Kate when golf was allowed to return in Britain after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Englishwoman earned notoriety in 2016 when playing at the AIG Women’s Open while seven months pregnant.

Prior to her win in Switzerland, Young was ranked 307th in the Rolex Rankings for the World Women’s Golf Standings. She jumped up 92 places to 215th.
