Oliver Wilson: What’s In The Bag

Oliver Wilson

Oliver Wilson ended an eight year wait for his second DP World Tour win when landing the Made In Himmerland title in September 2022. A look at Oliver Wilson: What’s In The Bag.

Englishman Wilson hadn’t won since 2014 when claiming his maiden success on the now DP World Tour, but ended the drought in Denmark in the Made In Himmerland.

Wilson shot a four-under par final round at the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort to finish on 21-under, a shot clear of Ewen Ferguson.

Wilson’s only previous European Tour win came in 2014 when winning the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews.

It ended a frustrating time with Wilson having lost four play-offs between 2004 and 2008. Despite not being a European Tour winner, he made the 2008 European Ryder Cup team.

Having struggled to add a second win to his CV, Wilson dropped onto the Challenge Tour and won both the 2018 Swedish Challenge and 2018 Monaghan Irish Challenge in play-offs.

The win in the Made In Himmerland tournament moved Wilson up from 745th to 381st in the Official World Golf Rankings.
