Scotty Cameron Phantom 11R OC Putter (New Onset Center Model Reviewed)

Scotty Cameron Phantom 11R OC Putter Review

Scotty Cameron’s Phantom 11R OC mallet putter is a new addition for 2025 and the brand’s first Onset Center (OC) Low Torque model.

Launched along with the Studio Style Fastback OC, it is one of just two models in the Scotty Cameron OC putters series as the first “Low Torque” models.

The Phantom 11R OC has the same design as the mallet, but this version comes with the benefits of ultra-stable low-torque technology coupled with classic Scotty Cameron feel and feedback.

The 11R OC has a center-shafted onset design giving minimal torque and twist through the putting stroke with the design intended to keep the face as square as possible throughout the impact.

Pros & Cons

✅ Low-torque shaft placement (Onset Center) reduces twisting, delivering a square-to-the-path feel
✅ Promotes straight-back-and-through putting with minimized face rotation for consistent alignment
✅ Enhanced stability and higher MOI (Moment of Inertia) head shapes improve forgiveness and consistency
✅ Shaft lean is minimal (one degree), providing a neutral setup and unimpeded view at address
❌ The low-torque configuration may not suit golfers who prefer more toe hang
❌ Heavier head weight may require an adjustment period for those accustomed to lighter putters
❌ Limited initial models and shaft configurations may not cater to every golfer

Scotty Cameron Phantom 11R OC Putter Design & Specs

The Phantom 11R OC is a classic mallet-style putter built on the popular Phantom 11 design but with new low torque features.

It is designed for players who demand the ultimate in stability with minimal face rotation and consistent alignment on the greens.

The OC version of the putter has been redesigned with softer, more rounder edges and fitted with Scotty Cameron’s Onset Center (OC) shaft position for minimal torque and maximum stability.

The shaft sits directly in line with the center of gravity and also features a subtle one degree forward lean to promote a straight-back and straight-through stroke.

The 11R OC has a heavier head, which is constructed from a 303 stainless steel face and body and 6061 aircraft aluminum sole/flange and adds to the MOI and forgiveness without sacrificing premium, responsive feel.

The putter also features new chain-link face milling, which softens sound and increases feedback by reducing contact points with the ball.

The Phantom 11R OC is available in 33-inch, 34-inch and 35-inch lengths, right-handed and left-handed versions and comes fitted with a special black KBS x Scotty Cameron shaft and custom 11-inch Matador grip.

Scotty Cameron Phantom 11R OC Putter Review: Is it any good?

The Phantom 11R carries the sleek looks of the range but notably comes with the new Onset Center Low Torque technology for the most forgiving version yet.

The OC design and technology provides less face rotation, promotes a straighter putting stroke and unmatched forgiveness thanks to the precise head weighting.

At the same time, there is no loss of the trademark Scotty Cameron feel and feedback and you get the most complete package yet.

If you love Scotty Cameron and have watched other brands introduce anti-twist, low torque putters, the wait is over as the Phantom 11R OC really does the business.
