Japan’s Kuwaki landed a first major title with a play-off victory in the AIG Women’s at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
After a tough four days on the links in England, Kuwaki finished on five-under par along with Esther Henseleit. She then won a play-off at the second extra hole.
Kuwaki is the number one player on the LPGA of Japan Tour following two wins in 2026, taking her career tally on the tour to five wins.
The Japanese star won the Sky RKB Ladies Classic in May 2026 and two months late took the title at the Ai Miyazato Suntory Ladies Open Golf Tournament.
Her earlier wins on the tour came in 2024 when she completed a hat-trick courtesy of victories in the Shiseido Ladies Open, Nitori Ladies and Japan LPGA Tour Championship Ricoh Cup.
