Sweden’s Forsstrom led from start to finish in the Soudal Open in Belgium to end his wait for a first victory on the DP World Tour.

Forsstrom carded a final round of two-under par to finish on 17-under par at Rinkven International Golf Club, hanging on by a shot from fellow Swede Jens Dantorp.

It was a fifth career win for the experience Forsstrom, who first won as a professional in the Högtorp Cup in his homeland.

He also won twice on the Nordic Golf League in the 2015 Trummenäs Open and the 2022 Stora Hotellet Fjällbacka Open.

His biggest win prior to the Soudal Open victory was his 2016 KPMG Trophy victory on the European Challenge Tour.

Prior to the win in Belgium, Forsstrom was ranked 429th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He moved up to 242nd in the world.
