Smilla Soenderby landed her first professional victory in the KPMG Women’s Irish Open in August 2023. A look at Smilla Soenderby: What’s In The Bag.

The Danish star had secure her equal best result on the Ladies European Tour in the Women’s Irish Open in 2022 and went better in 2023 with victory in a play-off.

Soenderby finished on 16-under par at Dromoland Castle before an eagle at the first extra-hole earned her victory over Anne Van Dam and Lisa Petterson.

A stunning 10-under par final round had seen Soenderby surged into contention from well off the pace.

Soenderby’s previous best results were fourth place in the 2022 Women’s Irish Open and 2023 Jabra Open.

Before turning professional at the end of 2021 after just one year of collegiate golf at the University of Mississippi in which she won the NCAA Championship with Ole Miss titles.

Prior to victory in the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, Soenderby was ranked 336th in World Rolex Rankings.
