Srixon ZXiU Irons (NEW 2025 Utility Irons Reviewed)

Srixon ZXiU Utility Irons Review

Srixon ZXiU irons have been launched as the manufacturer’s new utility model for exceptional hybrid-like long game performance for 2025.

The new ZXiU irons join the ZXi5, ZXi7 and ZXi4 game-improving irons in a comprehensive new range along with ZXi drivers, fairway woods and hybrids.

The ZXiU utility irons are designed to provide hybrid-like distance with the look and flight of a long iron and fit seamlessly into a set with the ZXi5 or ZXi7 models.

Featuring a hollow-body construction with a forged body and face, they have a compact blade-like design with minimal offset but wider soles compared to other models in the ZXi line.

Srixon ZXiU Irons Specs & Design

The Srixon ZXiU utility irons are the long-game option in the ZXi series and are engineered to deliver hybrid-like distance while maintaining the precise look and flight characteristics of a traditional long iron.

The irons feature a sophisticated hollow-body construction that combines a forged body with a SUP10 stainless steel face plate, creating a compact blade-like design with strategically widened soles.

The face material has been improved to be 14% softer than previous generations, providing golfers with enhanced tactile feedback.

Srixon’s new i-FORGED technology is a prominent feature in the design of the ZXiU irons, for improved performance and feel thanks to an innovative forging process.

The updated two-channel MainFrame face design means there is now a significantly widened sweet spot compared to previous versions, while a condensed forging area behind the topline enhances overall sound and responsiveness.

A high-density tungsten weight has been positioned low in the sole to lower the center of gravity and promote a more optimal and consistent ball flight in the last release.

Like in the other models, the new Tour V.T. Sole ensures better turf interaction and shot-shaping capabilities, while progressive grooves with laser milling between each groove guarantee consistent spin performance.

The ZXiU irons are available in 2-iron (18 degrees), 3-iron (20 degrees) and 4-iron (23 degrees).

Srixon ZXiU Irons Review: Are they any good?

Targeted at better players and Tour-level golfers, the ZXiU irons aren’t for everyone but do offer a great option at the top end of the bag.

They are designed to integrate seamlessly with other models in the ZXi line, most notably the ZXi5 and ZXi7s, and work particularly well as part of combination sets.

The utility irons offer the kind of forgiveness you expect from hybrids, but with the shot-shaping capabilities of long irons

The 2-iron isn’t the easiest to hit but if you are skilled enough to hitting compact blades like these then they should come under serious consideration in 2025.
