TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver Review (Classic Relaunched For 2023)

TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver

An old classic model has been relaunched for the 2023 with the new TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver unveiled.

The Burner was one of TaylorMade’s most popular drivers in the 1990s and it is back with a new look as the BRNR Mini. There is also a new Copper version launched for 2024.

TaylorMade have taken an old classic design and combined the retro style with modern technologies in a small 304cc clubhead.

The new driver features moveable weighting, Twist Face technology, a Thru-Slot Speed Pocket and a fully adjustable hosel, yet still pays homage to the Burner name. In this article we look at what to expect.

What TaylorMade says about the BRNR Mini driver:

“A modern interpretation of a classic design, BRNR Mini pays homage to our late-90s Burner drivers.

“It pairs retro styling with Movable Weight Technology to give players their choice of forgiveness and versatility or increased distance with a piercing ball flight.

“A combination of carbon fiber, titanium and steel creates the foundation for BRNR Mini’s incredible sound, feel and performance.

“Split weights allow golfers to switch between the standard setting (13g in the back) for balanced performance, and the low spin setting (13g in the front) for a piercing trajectory and increased roll out.

“The K-SOLE design helps the club glide smoothly through the turf while reducing resistance and promoting a consistent strike. This enables golfers to have ‘driver off the deck’ distance with the consistency of higher lofted fairway woods.

“Twist Face, Thru-Slot Speed Pocket and the four-degree Loft Sleeve provide the ultimate suite of technologies.”

The Speed Pocket has also been included in this driver to help delivered impressive ball speeds and increase the amount of forgiveness on offer from the BRNR Mini.

TaylorMade have opted for a “split weights” design element that allow for weight to be moved from front to back. The 13g position in the back is for a neutral ball flight, while it can move to the front for a lower ball flight and trajectory.

A new K-SOLE design has been introduced for better turf interaction with this mini driver capable of being used in place of woods from the fairway or rough.
