Volvik Vivid Golf Balls Review

Volvik Vivid Balls

Volvik Vivid golf balls are catching the eye for more than just the obvious reasons with the new 2020 range offering more performance than ever before.

Now available in a total of eight different bright or fluorescent colours, Volvik’s stand out from the crowd aesthetically, but also produce a higher launch, less spin and more distance that in previous versions.

The three-piece matt finish balls are more than just about the eye-catching colours – you can also expect consistent performance from the Volvik Vivids too.

What Volvik say about the Vivid balls:

“The Volvik 2020 Vivid balls, with a three-piece matte finish, are available in this array of colours: green, red, orange, yellow, pink, blue, purple and white.

“(They are) the world’s first ever matte finish golf ball.

“Low Driver Spin, High Launch and More Distance driven by Volvik’s Nano Bi High Energy Resilient Core. Minimized glare on ball surface promotes concentration and improved ball striking.

“Vivid Colors were developed to improve increased visibility in flight and on the ground.”

Volvik Vivid Balls Design

Volvik produced balls before the Vivid, but none have attracted quite the same attention as this one due to the colours and the matte finish.

The dull matte finish is a world first and means the Vivid’s actually look like they don’t have dimples, but that isn’t the case with a 322-dimple pattern used by the South Korean manufacturer.

Volvik Vivid Balls

Volvik believe the matt coating helps promotes concentration and improve ball striking when using the Vivids, because of a reduction in glare compared to other balls.

The three-piece construction includes Volvik’s Nano Bi High Energy Resilient Core to help generate more distance, while the balls are design to produce a high launch and produce less spin when using the driver.

As a mid-compression ball, you can expect a good, soft feel around the greens when chipping, and a confident sound and feel off the putter face.

The Volvik Vivid balls are best suited to golfers with mid-to-slow swing speeds of between 70-90mph and it is those players who will find the distance most comparable with other balls.

There are eight colours to choose from to suit your personal tastes: green, red, orange, yellow, pink, blue, purple and white.

Volvik Vivid Balls Verdict

Overall the Volvik Vivid is a fairly impressive golf ball and they are pretty good value too – particularly if you love to play colourful balls.

With a traditional white ball in the mix now, the Vivid balls have become a real all-rounded that can be targetted at golfers who don’t like playing with coloured balls.

The price is attractive with the Volvik Vivid coming in mid-range in the sector and you should lose less golf balls too when playing with the brighter colours. All-in-all, the Vivid balls are good quality at a good price point.
