XXIO 14 & 14+ Woods Break New Ground For Fairways (Reviewed)

XXIO 14 & 14+ Woods Review

The latest generation of the XXIO fairway woods go into unchartered territory with the launch of the 14 and 14+ models for 2026.

XXIO have revealed the successor to the XXIO 13 fairway woods, but this new 2026 game-improving design features two different models for the first time.

That’s because the brand have introduced the XXIO 14+ to sit alongside the standard 14 model with the plus model catering for golfers with higher swing speeds than previous.

The two fairways designs are part of a full new XXIO 14 series, launched along with drivers, hybrids and irons.

Pros & Cons

✅ Very easy to launch high from both fairway and light rough, ideal for moderate swing speeds
✅ Lightweight overall build helps increase clubhead speed without swinging harder
✅ Confidence‑inspiring head shape with plenty of forgiveness on off‑centre strikes
✅ More compact, player‑style 14+ head shape appeals to confident ball‑strikers.
❌ Lightweight feel may lack the solid, heavy sensation some better players prefer
❌ Premium pricing for game-improvement style woods

XXIO 14 Woods Specs & Design

The XXIO 14 fairway woods are the standard model of the two designs in the series and the direct replacement for the 13 model.

The new 14 design has a multi-material construction including a forged VR-Titanium face that incorporates the brand new ULTiFLEX technology that is an addition to the series.

ULTiFLEX replaced the BiFlex design used in the previous models and provides improved and superior spring off the face and with it impressive ball speeds from across a wider area of the face.

Edge Cup Face boosts face impact while a High-Grip Milled Pattern on the toe and heel of the face adds spin and control in wet conditions or on off-center hits.

The Cannon Sole design has a large hollow behind the face for low CG as well as an expanded toe and heel thickness for stability.

Also present in the design is XXIO’s standard ActivWing ribs on the crown, which is carried over from previous models and helps refine airflow to generate faster swing speeds through the air.

The 14 woods are available in 3-wood (15 degrees), 4-wood (16.5 degrees), 5-wood (18 degrees), 7-wood (20 degrees) and 9-wood (23 degrees). They are non-adjustable.

XXIO 14+ Driver Specs & Design

The 14+ is the new addition to the series and a more compact option targetting golfers with faster swing speeds of 90mph+.

This model, which has never been available previously in the XXIO series, has a more compact crown with reduced offset for workability and focused feel.

Compared to the standard version, the 14+ – like the drivers, hybrids and irons equivalents – are suite to faster swings and target golfers that would not have been suited to XXIO clubs previously.

XXIO 14+ Fairway Woods

The model has the same ULTiFLEX VR-Titanium face design more better energy transfer that in previous models in this series, as well as the Edge Cup Face that also contributes to ball speeds and distance.

The High-Grip Milled Pattern in the toe and heel area of the face helps ensures consistency with ball striking, particularly in wet conditions.

Also part of the design is the Cannon Sole to help lower CG and increase forgiveness levels and the ActivWing technology that helps aerodynamics and speed through the air.

The 14+ woods are available in 3-wood (15 degrees) and 5-wood (18 degrees). They are non-adjustable.

XXIO 14 Fairway Woods Review: Are they any good?

The new XXIO 14 fairway woods have been tweaked rather than redesigned and continue to be an excellent choice for moderate swing speeds who need help creating speed, height and carry distance.

The interesting move is the introduction of the 14+ fairway head, which is more compact from heel to toe with a slightly deeper face for a more traditional, “tour‑inspired” look behind the ball that will appeal to better golfers.

It is an interesting move from a brand that has always been considered a game-improvement option, but the appeal to a wider range of golfers is a welcome addition for 2026.
