Grace Hallinan’s golf journey started at the tender age of five in Queensland in Australia when she took up the sport, playing with her father.

Her passion for the sport deepened after moving to Canberra, where she began taking golf seriously including competing in junior competitions at the prestigious Royal Canberra Golf Club.

Having once again moved, this time to Point Cook in Melbourne in Australia, Hallinan’s academic pursuits led her to Michigan in the United States as she joined Madonna University on a golf scholarship

Hallinan quickly made her presence felt on the collegiate golf scene. She tied a school scoring record, earned the WHAC Player of the Week and an All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2017.

Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she returned to Australia in 2018 to pursue a Masters in teaching after losing her love of the game of golf.

That desire has returned (Covid lockdowns apart) and Hallinan now combines her studies with attempting to turn her 2-handicap status into becoming a professional on tour.

Speaking to the Tee It Up podcast, Hallinan said: “Definitely my dream is that I have always wanted to turn pro. In the next year or two years I want to go down that path.

“I want to focus on trying to achieve that, which would be amazing. And then I guess in the next five years I’d like to see if I can get out there and play on some sort of tour.”

She works at Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club in Victoria in Australia and plays her golf at The Sands and Settlers Run.
