The 2022 US Open will take place at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, from June 16-19.

The 122nd US Open will be the third of the year’s majors in the traditional Father’s Day weekend slot.

Where is the 2022 US Open taking place?

The 2022 US Open heads back to Massachusetts as Brookline stages the event on The Country Club course.

It will be the fourth time the US Open has been held at Brookline after also being staged at the venue in 1913 when won by Francis Ouimet, 1963 when Julius Boros landed the title and 1988 as Curtis Strange triumphed.

The Country Club also hosted the Ryder Cup in 1999 won by the United States, and has staged the US Amateur Championship and US Women’s Amateur Championship on multiple occasions.

Jon Rahm won the 2021 US Open at Torrey Pines to become a major winner for the first time.

The Spaniard maintained his strong record on the South Course at Torrey Pines to win by shot from Louis Oosthuizen.

Rahm ended the weekend on a 72-hole total of six-under par with birdies on the final two holes sealing his victory.

Who is the favourite for the US Open?

World number one Jon Rahm is the favourite to retain the US Open title in the early betting markets.

Brooks Koepka, a two-time US Open winner, is prominent in the betting along with other former winners Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson.

Bryson DeChambeau, the 2020 winner of the US Open, rounds out the top five in the markets ahead of Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Jordan Spieth.
