USPGA Championship

The 2022 USPGA Championship will take place between May 19-22 at Southern Hills in Oklahoma.

The 104th USPGA Championship was due to be held at Donald Trump’s Trump Bedminster in New Jersey, but the PGA of America stripped the venue of the hosting rights.

Instead, it will take place on the Championship Course at Southern Hills eight years earlier than the next scheduled stop at the venue in 2030.

Phil Mickelson is the reigning champion having won the USPGA Championship title in 2021 at Kiawah Island.

The 2022 PGA Championship heads to Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and will be staged on the Championship Course.

It will be the eight time Southern Hills has staged a major.

Southern Hills hosted the USPGA Championship in 1970, 1982, 1994 and 2007, the most recent seeing Tiger Woods win his 13th major.

Three US Opens have also been staged at Southern Hills in 1958, 1977 and 2001 when Retief Goosen was victorious.

Who is the reigning US PGA Championship champion?

Phil Mickelson rolled back the years to win his second PGA Championship and sixth major of his career with a two-shot victory over Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka at Kiawah Island in 2021.

In doing so, 50-year-old Mickelson became the oldest player ever to win one of golf’s majors.

Mickelson finished on six-under par to claim the title.

Who is the favourite for the USPGA Championship?

Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Jordan Spieth all sit at the top of the betting markets.

Two-time major winner Collin Morikawa is also prominent, but reigning champion Phil Mickelson is once again at long-shot odds.
