The event was first held in 2015 as a new event on the PGA Tour and takes place on the same weekend as the 2023 Scottish Open.

For the first time in 2022, the tournament was co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the European Tour and that remains the case in 2023.

The Barbasol Championship is played at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

The first three editions of the tournament were played at the Grand National course at Jones Golf Trail in Auburn, Alabama.

Trey Mullinax is the reigning champion having won the event in 2022.

Other former winners of the event include Scott Piercy, Aaron Baddeley, Grayson Murray, Troy Merritt, Jim Herman and Seamus Power.

The Barbasol Championship will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, with a cut after the opening two rounds.

• Day 1 – Thursday, July 13
• Day 2 – Friday, July 14
• Day 3 – Saturday, July 15
• Day 4 – Sunday, July 16

The tournament carries a total prize fund of $3,800,000 USD.
