The Scottish Open is co-sanctioned between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour, and is the final preparation event for the 2023 Open Championship.

The 2023 tournament takes place at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, with the venue hosting for the fifth successive time.

The Scottish was first held in 1972 when it first joined the European Tour and moved to The Renaissance Club in 2019.

The Scottish Open was previously held at St Andrews, Gleneagles, Carnoustie, Loch Lomond, Castle Stuart, Royal Aberdeen, Gullane and Dundonald.

Xander Schauffele is the reigning champion after winning the tournament in 2022.

Former winners of the Irish Open include Ian Woosnam, Jesper Parnevik, Thomas Bjorn, Tom Lehman, Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomerie, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer, Luke Donald, Phil Mickelson, Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler and Min Woo Lee.

Scottish Open Format & Schedule

The Scottish Open golf will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland. There is a cut at the 36-hole stage.

• Day 2 – Friday, July 14
• Day 3 – Saturday, July 15
• Day 4 – Sunday, July 16

The tournament carries a prize fund of $9,000,000.
