The tournament is the season-ending event of the 2023 LPGA Tour season, and is being played on the Gold Course at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, United States.

The top 60 players from the LPGA Tour season bid for victory in the concluding event of the season.

The Tour Championship was first held in 2011 and crowns the winner of the LPGA season. CME Group have extended their sponsorship until 2025.

Lydia Ko is the reigning champion after winning the 2022 Tour Championship. It was her second success having also win in 2014.

Other former winners include Hee-young Park, Na-yeon Choi, Shanshan Feng, Cristie Kerr, Charley Hull, Ariya Jutanugarn, Lexi Thompson, Sei-young Kim and two-time winner Jin-young Ko.
