The Fortinet Championship is the first event of the new fall section of the 2022/2023 PGA Tour season having also previously been the first event of the original season 12 months ago.

It takes place on the North Course at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California.

The event has been part of the tour since 2007 when launched as the Fry’s Electronics Open, becoming the Frys.com Open and Safeway Open before Fortinet took over the sponsorship in 2021.

Max Homa is the reigning champion after winning the Fortinet Championship in 2021 and 2022 at the start of the PGA Tour season.

Other former winners of the tournament include Mike Weir, Rocco Mediate, Jimmy Walker, Brandon Steele, Cameron Champ and Stewart Cink.

Fortinet Championship Format & Schedule

The Fortinet Championship will be played over four rounds / 72 holes over the North Course at Silverado Resort & Spa.

  • Day 1 – Thursday, September 14
  • Day 2 – Friday, September 15
  • Day 3 – Saturday, September 16
  • Day 4 – Sunday, September 17

A field of 152 players will start the European Tour event with the leading 65 players and ties making the cut and playing the third and fourth rounds over the weekend.

The Fortinet Championship carries a prize fund of $8,400,000 USD.
