The event was first held in 2020 and this will be the fourth time it has been staged, although it gets a new name for 2023 after changing from the Pelican Women’s Championship to The ANNIKA Driven By Gainbridge at Pelican.

The tournament is named after Annika Sorenstam, the 72-time LPGA winner and 10-time major champion. Proceeds from the event are donated to the ANNIKA Foundation.

Part of the 2023 LPGA Tour season, it is being played at Pelican Golf Club in Tampa, Florida, United States.

Nelly Korda is the reigning champion after winning the last two titles in 2021 and 2022.

Kim Sei-young was the inaugural winner of the event in 2020 when it first joined the LPGA Tour.
