The event, which was previously known as Made In Himmerland and Made In Denmark, is part of the DP World Tour season. It first joined the European Tour in 2014.
The event moves from the HimmerLand Golf & Spa Resort in Farso, to Lubker Golf & Spa Resort in Nimtofte for the first time in 2024.
The Danish Golf Championship tournament was first held in 2014 and has been part of the DP World Tour ever since, with the exception of 2000 when cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.
Rasmus Hojgaard is the reigning champion after winning the tournament in 2023.
Former winners of the event include Marc Warren, David Horsey, Thomas Pieters, Julian Suri, Matt Wallace, Bernd Wiesberger and Oliver Wilson.

The Danish Golf Championship will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at Lubker Golf & Spa Resort in Nimtofte, Denmark. There is a cut after the opening two rounds.
- Day 1 – Thursday, August 22
- Day 2 – Friday, August 23
- Day 3 – Saturday, August 24
- Day 4 – Sunday, August 25
The tournament carries a prize fund of $2,500,000.
