The Austrian Open returns to the 2025 DP World Tour calendar and is the third event of the European Swing of the season.
The tournament is played Gut Altentann Golf Club in Salzburg, Austria, and will be the first Austrian Open since 2021.
The Austrian Open was first held in 1990 and remained part of the European Tour until 1996. It dropped down to Challenge Tour level in 1997-1999 and again from 2000-2005 before returning to European Tour from 2006-2018.
In 2020, the tournament was co-sanctioned between the DP World and Challenge Tours and elevated from DP World Tour status for 2021 before dropping off the calendar again.
John Catlin won the last event in 2021 while other former winners include Bernhard Langer, Ronan Rafferty, Alex Cejka, Paul McGinley, Jeev Milkha Singh, Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Bernd Wiesberger, Joost Luiten, Chris Wood, Ashun Wu and Dylan Frittelli.
