Svensson shot a final round six-under par at the Sea Island Seaside Course to finish on 19-under and win the RSM Classic.
It was enough for a two-shot victory over Callum Tarren, Sahith Theegala and Brian Harman and to hand the Canadian his maiden PGA Tour success.
Svensson was a three-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour prior to making his PGA Tour breakthrough.
He won The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic in 2018 and the Club Car Championship and Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in 2021.
The win in the RSM Classic saw Svensson move from 174th to 72nd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
