Boca Woods Country Club Opens Redesigned Woods Course

Boca Woods Country Club has officially opened the redesigned Woods Course following a $9 million renovation.

The official opening of the newly redesigned Woods golf course took place on December 8 in front of 450 members PGA Junior Club Members and past Club Presidents.

Course designer Rees Jones, who undertook the renovation along with LaBar Golf, was awarded honorary lifetime membership after declaring the course open for play in Boca Raton, Florida.

The changes to the Woods Course have resulted in a new maximum yardage of 7,043 yards, new risk/reward options and is better suited to golfers of all levels of skill.

Key elements of the renovation include redesigned greens and more consistent putting surfaces and strategically repositioned and reshaped bunkers to create visual appeal and challenge.

Jones’ work has also improved drainage thanks to a state-of-the-art drainage system for year-round play as well as multiple new tee boxes added.

“The Woods course is now a true championship layout, playing to a maximum yardage of 7,043 yards.” said Jeff Gullett, Director of Golf at Boca Woods Country Club.

“Rees Jones has incorporated a combination of green complexes and bunkering that will test every golfer’s ability. We are confident that our Members will be delighted with the results.”
