The 2022 British Open golf takes place from May 5-8. Watch a British Masters live stream of all the action from the DP World Tour event.

The British Masters is the 11th event of the 2022 DP World Tour season and the first to take place in England with the Belfry staging the 2022 edition.

Richard Bland is the defending champion having won the British Masters title at the Belfry in 2021.

The tournament is hosted by one of the stars of the European Tour with US Masters champion Danny Willett taking on the honour for the second year running.

Willett hosted the tournament at the Belfry in 2021, following on from Ian Poulter at Woburn Golf Club in 2015, Luke Donald at The Grove in 2016, Lee Westwood at Close House Golf Club in 2017 and 2022, Justin Rose at Walton Heath Golf Club in 2018 and Tommy Fleetwood at Hillside Golf Club in 2019.

The British Masters was originally staged on the European Tour between 1946 and 2009 before being revived in 2015.

Past winners include Bobby Locke, Tony Jacklin, Bernard Gallacher, Bernard Langer, Greg Norman, Ian Woosnam, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, Sandy Lyle, Justin Rose, Thomas Bjorn, Lee Westwood and Matt Fitzpatrick.

British Masters Format & Schedule

The British Masters golf will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at the par-72 Belfry in Warwickshire, England.

  • Day 1 – Thursday, May 5
  • Day 2 – Friday, May 6
  • Day 3 – Saturday, May 7
  • Day 4 – Sunday, May 8

The tournament carries a prize fund of €1,850,000.
