Callaway Elyte Irons (NEW 2025 Model Reviewed)

Callaway Elyte Irons Review

Callaway Elyte irons are a new 2025 launch as part of new series with four models in the range – the Elyte, Elyte X, Elyte HL and Elyte Max Fast.

The four new irons have been launched along with the new Elyte drivers range, fairway woods and hybrids as a 2025 newcomer.

The new Elyte irons, which are the successors to the Ai Smoke irons, feature a standard, X, HL (High Launch) and a Max Fast version.

The quartet of options have a new Speed Frame construction design, more face flex, produce faster ball speeds and offer more distance and forgiveness.

Callaway Elyte Irons Specs & Design

The Elyte is the standard model in the range and offers a blend of long distance and forgiveness for golfers with average to fast swing speeds.

The Elyte irons are the successor to the Ai Smoke irons range but have been upgraded with a number of new design features.

One of the key changes has been in the new Speed Frame construction of the hollow-body irons, proving a stiffer body and more face flex to deliver faster ball speeds than previous irons series.

The Elyte irons also have new 10x Ai Face, which is more precise than in the Ai Smoke irons and has ensured more ball speed and more forgiveness from across the face.

There is also a new tri-sole design with a sharper leading edge and a chamfer on the trailing edge for improved turf interaction and more consistent ball striking.

The result of the combination of element in this mid-size clubhead model is a high launch, maximum forgiveness, plenty of workability and long distances.

The Elyte irons are sold from 4-iron (19 degrees) to Sand Wedge (55 degrees).

Callaway Elyte X Irons Specs & Design

A new addition to the series having not been part of the Ai Smokes, the Elyte X is an oversized model and the most forgiving of the four options.

The clubhead size makes the X more confidence-inspiring than the standard model and enhances forgiveness without compromising the speed the range is noted for.

The design of this model features a cavity back construction and has more offset, sole width and topline thickness than the Elyte.

It also features the new Speed Frame construction with more stiffness in the body and more face flex to produce long distances.

The 10x Ai Face has been enhanced to help deliver those eye-catching ball speeds and distances, as well as a towering high launch.

The new tri-sole design features a sharper leading edge and trailing edge chamfer for improved turf interaction and more consistent ball striking.

The Elyte X irons are sold from 4-iron (18 degrees) to Sand Wedge (54 degrees) and have the strongest lofts of the series.

Callaway Elyte HL Irons Specs & Design

The HL model was a โ€œhigh launchโ€ version first added to the Ai Smoke series and is retained in the new Elyte series as the option for maximum carry distances.

The HL irons have the same mid-size clubhead as the standard model but with weaker lofts deliver a towering ball flight and incredible stopping power on the approach play.

This version of the irons has a deep cavity back design and is best suited to golfers with slow to average swing speeds who tend to have a lower ball flight with existing irons.

Callaway Elyte HL Irons

Offering the most forgiveness across the entire range, the game improving irons feature the new Speed Frame construction for a stiffer body and more face flex for exceptional ball speeds.

The 10x Ai Face provides a much tighter dispersion on shots throughout the bag thanks to multiple sweet spots on the face and adds to the forgiveness.

There is also better turf interaction compared to the Ai Smoke HL following Callaway’s redesigning of the tri-sole with improved leading edge and trailing edge attributes.

In the HL model, the longer irons are half-an-inch longer with lofts ranging from 4-iron (20 degrees) to Sand Wedge (56 degrees).

Callaway Elyte Max Fast Irons Specs & Design

Just like the Max Fast driver, the irons have been introduced as a lightweight option for golfers with slower than average swing speeds.

Designed with a light shaft to help golfers increase their swing and balls speeds, Callaway have combined forgiveness and distance for the handicappers who need it most.

The Max Fast has a deep cavity back design including the new Speed Frame construction. It combines a stiff body design with more face flex than ever before for the perfect setup.

Callaway Elyte Max Fast Irons

The 10x Ai Face is one of the key design elements to create the biggest sweet spot thanks to AI data learning from previous models and more forgiveness – particularly on off-center strikes.

The new tri-sole design features altered leading edge and trailing edge to ensure turf interaction is optimal regardless of swing speeds, delivering a high ball flight time after time.

The Max Fast has the weakest lofts of the range with irons available from 5-iron (23 degrees) to Sand Wedge (55 degrees).

Callaway Elyte Irons Review: Are they any good?

Callaway have launched the most complete version of their irons with four models in the expanded 2025 range with an X model added to those that were part of the Ai Smoke series.

The four models all offer something different from maximum forgiveness of the X to a towering flight of the HL and increased swing speed from the lightweight Max Fast.

The re-engineered clubhead construction adds to the ball speeds generated, as does the optimized Ai Face design. The end result is that they a long, forgiving and seriously fast.
