Camilo Villegas: What’s In The Bag

Camilo Villegas What's In The Bag

Camilo Villegas ended more than nine years without a win when landing victory at the Bermuda Championship in November 2023. A look at Camilo Villegas: What’s In The Bag.

Villegas had gone without victory since 2014, but rolled back the years when recording a two-shot victory over Alex Noren in the Bermuda Championship.

The Colombian finished on 24-under and it was enough to land his fifth PGA Tour victory.

Villegas’ first PGA win was in the 2008 BMW Championship and he followed up three weeks later to win the 2008 Tour Championship.

In 2010, he was victorious in the Honda Classic and then won again in the 2014 Wyndham Championship before a nine-year barren spell.

Villegas’ other wins came in the 2007 Coca-Cola Tokai Classic on the Japan Golf Tour, and in South American wins in the 2001 Colombian Open, 2008 Telus World Skins Game, CVS Caremark Charity Classic and Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge and 2010 World Golf Salutes King Bhumibol Skins Tournament.

The win in Bermuda moved Villegas from 318th to 163rd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
