Cobra have launched the new DS-ADAPT irons for 2025 with Standard and Max models designed as game-improvement options for mid-to-high handicap golfers.
Part of a new 2025 DS-ADAPT series along with drivers, fairway woods and hybrids, the new irons deliver maximum speed, distance and playability compared to the Darkspeed irons that preceded them.
The game-improvement irons feature innovative technologies including hollow body construction for increased flexibility and higher launch, 360 SPEEDSHELL face cup design and much more in a complete package.
The standard model is forgiving and designed for mid-to-high handicappers, while the Max model has an oversized shape with longer blade, thicker topline and wider sole as well as weaker lofts for high handicappers.
Cobra DS-ADAPT Irons Specs & Design
The new DS-ADAPT irons have been designed to deliver maximum speed and distance for handicap golfers with plenty of forgiveness built in too.
The 2025 design is an upgrade on last year’s Darkspeed model, but does feature many of the same technologies that have been improved further.

The irons are designed with a hollow body construction for increased face flexibility – a 23% increase compared to the Darkspeeds – and higher launch, delivering more carry and distance as a result.
Cobra have re-engineered the 360 Speedshell face cup design, which is now the large ever from the manufacturer and extends across the entire toe and sole area of the clubface.
The now standard H.O.T. Face Technology for improved face flexibility and ball speed and PWR-BRIDGE weighting system for optimal launch and distance are also included in the DS-ADAPT design.
The irons are available in 4-iron (19 degrees) to Sand Wedge (54 degrees) lofts.
Cobra DS-ADAPT Max Irons Specs & Design
The DS-ADAPT Max irons differ from the standard model due to an oversized shape with longer blade design to inspire more confidence over the ball and add to the forgiveness on offer.
The Max irons feature a thicker topline and wider sole and are best suited to high-handicap golfers who struggle for consistency with their irons.

They feature additional offset for a draw-bias set up to help straighten ball flights, and have two degree weaker lofts for a higher launch and improved stopping power compared to the standard DS-ADAPT irons.
The variable thickness design of the H.O.T. Face Technology delivers explosive speed, even on off-center hits, while the new 360 Speedshell design has widened the sweet spot across the entire face.
The combination of the two technologies provides 23% more face flex compared to the previous generation, further enhancing speed and distance for golfers who need it most.
In the Max model, the PWR-BRIDGE weight is positioned low and back in the clubhead to help promote the higher ball flight that this set is all about.
The irons are available in 4-iron (21 degrees) to Sand Wedge (55 degrees) lofts.
Cobra DS-ADAPT Irons Review: Are they any good?
The DS-ADAPT irons are an improvement on the Cobra Darkspeeds thanks largely to even more face flex being extracted in the new design.
The result of the tweaks made is that you can expect even more ball speed, a wider face cup for more forgiveness and increased carry and distance.
The standard is best suited to mid-to-high handicappers and produces impressive numbers, while the Max – with more forgiveness, higher launch and increased draw bias – is suited for higher handicap golfers.
What is impressive about the DS-ADAPT range is the towering ball flight that they deliver. If you already hit a high ball, they might not be for you, but if you want more carry seriously consider them.
