Cobra Darkspeed Irons Review (LONGEST Irons Yet!)

Cobra Darkspeed Irons Review

Cobra Darkspeed irons are new for 2024 and the longest yet from the manufacturer. How have they extracted even more distance?

Launched along with the new Darkspeed drivers series, fairway woods and hybrids, the irons are described as the “longest and most robust” Cobra have created.

A new hollow-body construction design has allowed a new weighting system to be introduced to add more distance as well as accuracy from the new 2024 irons release.

How do they perform on the course? Which sort of golfer do they suit? And do they really add distance to your game? We tested them out to see.

Cobra Darkspeed Irons Specs & Design

The Darkspeed irons are designed with an all-new hollow-body construction, which redistributes weight across the clubhead and optimizes the center of gravity.

The incorporation of a larger PWRSHELL face in the Darkspeed means you can expect maximum speed, spin and distance from the new release.

The improved PWRSHELL technology with A.I. designed H.O.T. Face is complemented by a larger sweet spot, giving more consistency from across the face and more forgiveness than in previous Cobra irons.

The PWR-BRIDGE technology has also been improved with the unique weight suspended for increased flexion upon impact, translating to faster ball speeds off the face.

This works in tandem with a hollow cavity filled with a soft polymer, engineered to reduce vibrations, for a superior feel and sound upon contact.

Cobra Darkspeed Irons Review: Are they any good?

The Darkspeed irons carry through what the entire series deliver – and that is long distances. They also complete the “dark” element with a charcoal colored clubhead.

Replacing the Aerojet irons as Cobra’s forgiving model, the revised weighting of this new model has resulted more clubhead speed and straighter, longer and more accurate ball striking.

We found that the Darkspeed irons added several yards throughout the bag and the feel was much improved compared to the Aerojets.
