Cobra OPTM Drivers (4 NEW Models for 2026 Reviewed)

Cobra OPTM Drivers Review

Cobra OPTM drivers are new for 2026 with four models in the range as the successors to the DS-ADAPT series following the arrival of the OPTM X, OPTM LS, OPTM MAX and OPTM MAX-D.

The four DS-ADAPT drivers were only released in early 2025, but they have been replaced as the premier model from Cobra with the OPTM a new 2026 addition.

The X, LS and Max-D models remain – albeit with some new design elements and performance benefits. The Max-K version from the DS-ADAPT series has a name tweak to become just the Max model.

Cobra have added the four drivers to the USGA Conforming List in December 2025 ahead of a early 2026 launch along with fairway woods and hybrids.

The OPTM MAX and MAX-D prioritize maximum forgiveness and MOI, with the latter including draw bias for slice correction. The OPTM X is the standard model and an all-rounder, while the OPTM LS targets low spin.

Cobra OPTM X Driver Specs & Design

The OPTM X is the standard model in the line, filling the same role as DS-ADAPT X as the neutral, mid-launch and mid-spin option aimed at a large variety of golfers.

The X features a prominent carbon crown and a multi-port weighting system, one behind the face labelled “accuracy” and one in the rear of the head labelled forgiveness.

The two are likely to combine to add more stability and control than the DS-ADAPT X.

It is expected that Cobra’s FutureFit33 adjustable hosel continues to be part of the design and provides a huge range of loft and lie angles – 33 in fact as the name suggest.

The X driver has two interchangeable external weights for setup alterations and is available in 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees loft with 2 degrees of adjustability up and down.

Cobra OPTM LS Driver Specs & Design

The Cobra OPTM LS driver is designed for golfers with faster swing speeds and helps reduce spin and enhances shot-shaping versatility.

The LS is the low-spin, player-focused head, taking over from the DS-ADAPT LS as Cobra’s most tour-centric option.

It features a strong carbon crown with multiple weight ports, including a very toe-side front weight plus an additional heel or rear port to offer stability with the option of setup tuning.

Cobra OPTM LS Driver

Compared with DS-ADAPT LS, the most obvious change is how aggressively the front mass looks pushed toward the toe, which should raise resistance to face twist for better players swinging at higher speeds.

This model features three separate weight ports (accuracy in the heel, forgiveness at the rear and fade in the toe) and make the LS more adjustable than the previous fixed low-spin setting.

The LS model is available in 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees and is adjustable up or down 2 degrees.

Cobra OPTM MAX Driver Specs & Design

The OPTM MAX is the successor to DS-ADAPT MAX-K and is the high-MOI neutral head for maximum forgiveness and suited to players who want launch and stability.

The MAX is best described as the game-improvement model with a largely and more confidence inspiring clubhead.

Cobra OPTM MAX Driver

It features a carbon crown and the most simplistic setup in terms of weights, with just a rear one in this model designed to push weight back toward the rear of the clubhead to maximize inertia and forgiveness.

It is also designed to raise launch and add more carry distance compared with more forward-biased of the lower-launching X and LS models.

The MAX driver is available in lofts of 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with two degrees of adjustability up and down.

Cobra OPTM MAX-D Driver Specs & Design

The OPTM MAX-D driver is the draw-biased version of the series, designed to help fight a slice or fade and provide straight balls flights and distance.

Like the MAX, it has high-MOI head for maximum forgiveness but the big difference with this model is it has an internal weight structure for players who are fight a right miss.

Cobra have included an adjustable heel weight that is listed as draw for the expected bias and is joined by forgiveness from the rear weight.

Cobra OPTM MAX-D Driver

The MAX-D sits with the game-improvement sector with a larger head that the X and LS and is designed to prioritize launch and forgiveness over ultra-low spin off the tee.

It has a full carbon crown and sole design to maximize speed throughout the air, the combination delivering an all round solid package of launch trajectory and distance.

The Max-D driver is available in lofts of 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees with two degrees of adjustability up and down.

Cobra OPTM Drivers Review: Are they any good?

Cobra have stuck with the tried and tested of the DS-ADAPT driver range and kept things the same – albeit with one tweak to the name of the MAX model.

Otherwise it is the same setup but with some technology, design and weight positioning changes to improve performance across all four models.

Expect more distance, more carry, more accuracy from the tee box and a tighter dispersion. We look forward to getting our hands on the models when they are launched.
