Cobra OPTM Drivers Are 23% More Accurate (2026 Models Reviewed)

Cobra OPTM Drivers

Cobra OPTM drivers are new for 2026 with four models in the range as the successors to the DS-ADAPT series following the arrival of the OPTM X, OPTM LS, OPTM MAX-K and OPTM MAX-D.

The four DS-ADAPT drivers were only released in early 2025, but they have been replaced as the premier model from Cobra with the OPTM a new 2026 addition.

The OPTM MAX-K and MAX-D prioritize maximum forgiveness and MOI, with the latter including draw bias for slice correction. The OPTM X is the standard model and an all-rounder, while the OPTM LS targets low spin.

Cobra have launched the drivers along with fairway woods and hybrids as well as King TEC Mini Driver and new 3DP irons.

Cobra OPTM X Driver Specs & Design

The OPTM X is the standard model in the line, filling the same role as DS-ADAPT X as the neutral, mid-launch and mid-spin option aimed at a large variety of golfers.

The X model offers balanced performance for a wide range of skilled golfers emphasizing speed and forgiveness and is a mid-CG driver that draws from F9-inspired shaping for a versatile profile.

It boasts a 460cc carbon crown clubhead with tour-preferred shape, two weights labeled “accuracy” (11g mid-high toe) and “forgiveness” (3g rear) for dual POI tuning.

Cobra OPTM X Driver

The AI-driven POI optimization and adaptive weighting have been introduced to minimize rotational resistance for straighter mishits, achieving total MOI over 10,000 g-cm² in optimal configurations.

There is a 15-zone H.O.T. Face for maintaining ball speed consistency, while the carbon-fiber crown and sole and a titanium chassis enhances aerodynamics and feel.

The FutureFit33 hosel is retained from the DS-ADAPT series and enables independent loft and lie tweaks across 33 different settings for optimised launch and spin control to suit your game.

A new SmartPad sole design ensures square setup at address with the multi-density pad flexing and redistributing weight based on lie angle and ground interaction.

The X driver is available in 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees loft with four degrees of adjustability (2 up and 2 down).

Cobra OPTM LS Driver Specs & Design

The Cobra OPTM LS driver is designed for golfers with faster swing speeds and helps reduce spin and enhances shot-shaping versatility.

The LS is the low-spin, player-focused head, taking over from the DS-ADAPT LS as Cobra’s most tour-centric option for swing speeds over 110 mph.

The 460cc tour-inspired model has a more rounded carbon crown and features a deeper face and refined aerodynamics for penetrating ball flights.

Cobra have introduced AI-optimized Product of Inertia (POI) shaping that centralizes the CG to reduce twisting on mishits and the result is up to 23% tighter downrange dispersion compared to prior models.

Cobra OPTM LS Driver

The LS models is the most adjustable with three sole weights enabling precise setup options. The movable weights are set up as 11g high-toe (fade), 7g mid-heel (accuracy) and 3g rear (forgiveness), but can be interchanged.

The adjustability of the OPTM LS is added to by the inclusion of the FutureFit33 hosel, which provides 33 different loft and lie adjustments without compromising face angle.

H.O.T. Face technology is another key design element with 15 AI-designed zones ensuring consistent ball speeds across the face for maximum performance from the forged titanium face.

Cobra’s new SmartPad sole design is also present to maintain a square setup regardless of the setup of weights and hosel.

The LS model is available in 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees and is adjustable by four degrees (2 up or 2 down).

Cobra OPTM MAX-K Driver Specs & Design

The OPTM MAX-K is the successor to DS-ADAPT MAX-K and is the high-MOI neutral head for maximum forgiveness and suited to players who want launch and stability.

The MAX is best described as the game-improvement model with a largely and more confidence inspiring clubhead and is the option for golfers prioritizing straight, high-launch drives with max forgiveness on mishits.

It features an oversized 460cc carbon crown and the most simplistic setup in terms of weights, with just a rear one in this model designed to push weight back toward the rear of the clubhead to maximize inertia and forgiveness.

Cobra OPTM Max Driver

This model is the most forgiving in the range and has a fixed 11g rear weight to maximize MOI and push it above the 10,000 g-cm² threshold.

The POI also pushes CG rearward for unmatched rotational stability, reducing dispersion on off-center strikes by up to 23%.

The H.O.T. Face technology is also part of this model with AI hot zones preserving speed across a wide hitting area of the titanium face.

The SmartPad sole keeps a square face at address no what which of the 33 independent settings used on the FutureFit33 hosel.

The MAX-K driver is available in lofts of 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with four degrees of adjustability (2 up and 2 down).

Cobra OPTM MAX-D Driver Specs & Design

The OPTM MAX-D driver is the draw-biased version of the series, designed to help fight a slice or fade and provide straight balls flights and distance.

Like the MAX-K, it has high-MOI 460cc oversized carbon crown head for maximum forgiveness but the big difference with this model is it has an internal weight structure for players who are fight a right miss.

Cobra have included an adjustable heel weight that is listed as draw for the expected bias and is joined by forgiveness from the fixed rear weight.

Cobra OPTM Max-D Driver

The heel-biased POI and internal mass help to reduce slice tendency and tighten dispersion, while maintain speed and direction on off-center hits.

Like the other models, there is a 15-zone H.O.T. Face that adds to the forgiveness on offer and helps correction ball strikes from across the titanium face.

The D model has all been made as lightweight as possible to help generate speed for slower swingers as well as a high launch thanks to back weighting.

The Max-D driver is available in lofts of 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with four degrees of adjustability (2 up and 2 down). In total there are 33 different loft and lie setting available from the FutureFit33 hosel.

Cobra OPTM Drivers Review: Are they any good?

Cobra have stuck with the tried and tested of the DS-ADAPT driver range and kept things the same with the same four models launched in the OPTM for 2026.

There are some interesting tweaks, mainly centered around weight positioning changes to improve performance across all four models and provide more setup flexibility.

The key result is that the OPTM drivers are up to 23% more accurate with a tighter dispersion helping eradicate missed fairways from your game.
