The 25-year-old American finished four shots clear of Luke Clanton, Pan Cheng-tsung and Michael Thorbjornsen in the 2024 John Deere Classic.
The talented star is now eyeing up team honours via the 2024 Presidents Cup or 2025 Ryder Cup.
Thompson turned professional in 2021 after graduating from the University of Georgia.
His first victory came on the Korn Ferry Tour in the Rex Hospital Open in 2022 and it helped him earned his PGA Tour card from 2022/23.
